Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committ

mittee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, laid a floral basket at a monument on Monday marking the departure of the Long March.

At a museum marking the start of the Long March, Xi spoke with nine representati

ves of descendants of Red Army soldiers and relatives of revolutionary martyrs.

The People’s Republic of China was founded at the cost of the blood of numerous revoluti

onary martyrs, Xi said, adding that the CPC and the Red Army, upholding lofty revolutionary id

eals, had brought about incredible achievements after repeatedly surviving desperate situations during the Long March.

Xi called for staying true to the revolutionary martyrs, the P

arty’s original aspiration and mission, its revolutionary ideals and principles, and the

people living near revolutionary sites. Xi’s inspection tour took place a week after the Political Bureau of the CPC

Hong Kong has agreements on extradition arrangem

angements with 20 jurisdictions. The Chinese mainland, Macao and Taiwan are not among them.

The revision was triggered by a murder case in which a Hong Kong ma

n, Chan Tong-kai, allegedly killed his pregnant girlfriend in Taiwan and then fled back to the c

ty. The Taiwan authorities are unable to prosecute him as the two sides have no fugitive transfer arrangements.

During the meeting, Han also hailed the contribution of the Hong Kong Federation of Fujian Associations in pro

moting exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland, as well as its efforts in maintaining Hong Kong’s

prosperity and stability. He hoped that the organization can continue to firmly safeguard national sovereignty.

Air China, the country’s leading carrier, has formally requested compensation from Boeing Co for th

e grounding of its 15 737 MAX aircraft and delayed deliveries of future planes, the company said Wednesday.

China Southern Airlines, another of China’s “big three” State-run

carriers, has also officially asked the US aircraft-maker for compensation involving its 24 gro

unded MAX aircraft and postponed deliveries of such planes, CCTV reported the same day.

Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines had already sought compensa

tion from Boeing for incurring considerable losses after the grounding of the 737 MAX aircr

aft following two major crashes, according to a previous China Daily report citing People’s Daily.

The carrier filed a claim against Boeing for the losses caused by 14 suspensions of 737 MAX ai

rcraft since March 11 and delayed delivery of the models it had booked earlier, the report said.

Which in itself is a worrying development since it may be the start of the US using the domestic affa

Washington, of course, is trying to put the US on the high moral ground while embedding

its trade frictions with other countries into its political agenda and using its economic policy for its foreign policy aims.

In this way, it is hoping to achieve the colonization of the global

business world, allegedly under the banners of human rights, freedom and democracy.

If Washington really cared about the human rights situation in X

A recent report by the Beijing Municipal Education

Commission said that more than 231,000 college students graduated from universities in

Beijing last year, but 37.5 percent of employed graduates chose to work outside the capital.

A female college student surnamed Zhang said that she chose to w

ork in Wuhan, Hubei province, after graduating from Tsinghua University in June, 2018.

“The biggest reason driving me away from Beijing was the living cost,” she said. “Tho

ugh I can earn 8,000 ($1,160) or even 10,000 yuan a month in Beijing, the rent may cost me 3,000 yuan or more ea

ch month, let alone other expenses such as meals, transportation and getting together with friends.”

In contrast, some so-called new first-tier cities like Chengdu, Sichua

n province; Hangzhou, Zhejiang province; and Wuhan have sprung up as new at

tractions to college graduates for their cheaper living costs and preferential policies to newcomers.

In 2015, World Animal Protection developed an initiati

ive, calling for animal-friendly tours and for tour operators worldwide to keep wild animals in

the wild where they belong. It gained support from many travel agencies. By the end of last year, mo

re than 200 companies have removed the wildlife-related entertainment services, such as elephant rides.

Although some travelers are still not fully aware of the concept of animal-friendly tra

Having visited the Antarctic more than 30 times, Zhao Xin, an experienced tour guide from Beiji

Tian Dewen, a researcher in European Studies at the Chines

He is certain that nationalist and far-right parties will gain ground, but it is still possible that the mainstream groups, which a

Data from the US Census Bureau showed that bilater

eral merchandise trade between the two countries has declined by more

than 15 percent since September 2018, when the second round of tariffs went into effect.

“This has also impacted global value chains in East Asia and other trading partners,” the report said.

“We’ve seen the trade tariffs that have been introduced on both sides have already been damaging trade,” said Dawn Holl

and, chief of the Global Economic Monitoring Branch in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

Holland said the adverse effects of trade tensions on economic growth in China “has been partly offset by some stimulus measures”.

According to the report, growth in China is projected to moderate gradually from 6.6 percent in 2018 to 6.3 percent in 2019, and 6.2 percent in 2020.

The Plan B Huawei has just revealed — a series of self-developed chips — is only part of what makes it an enterprise of strategic insight, and hence resilience. Over

That may be why, even after Google barred Huawei from some Android featur
